At 7:08pm the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Co along with Rose EMS were dispatched to Route 851 in the area of True Value Hardware store for a reported 3 vehicle accident with injuries. Rescue 61 responded with Chief 61 onboard. Enroute York County 911 advised all units there is now reported entrapment. Chief 61 requested a second BLS transport unit and an engine from Rose Fire Co. Fire Police Lt. 61 arrived and established Command 61. He advised there is a woman confined in one vehicle and a male confined in a second. There is debris and fluids on the ground.
Rescue 61 arrived and command was passed to Chief 61. Personnel from Rescue 61 stabilized the vehicles involved and then removed a driver door to extract one of the drivers. The driver of the second vehicle self extricated himself. There was no one injured in the third vehicle. Patients care was handled by Rose EMS and Eureka EMS. Both drivers were transported to York Hospital in stable condition. Fire Police personnel from Stations 61, 58 and 59 assisted with diverting traffic off of Rt 851 during the incident.
All units were clear and Rt 851 was opened at approximately 8:15pm.
