Today was a busy day for the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company. It started with 6 members attending training classes at the York County Fire School. 3 members were taking Pumps 2 class and 3 members were taking Vehicle Rescue class. While they were there getting wet Station 61 responded to 4 incidents. We responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 83, a flooded basement call, a hazardous fluid leak on Route 851 and flooded roadway complaints.
Hopefully everyone will dry out tonight and then back at it tomorrow. Members will be returning to class at the fire school and Rescue 61 will be participating in Court of Valor ceremony at the Prospect Hills Cementary in York. Sunday there will be a dedication to a new monument called the Safe Keepers Shrine which will be dedicated to all emergency responders. Activities begin at 11am with the dedication at 1pm.
Things are always buzzing at the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company……
