Members of Shrewsbury Volunteers attended a memorial service to honor those lives lost in the 9/11 tragedy last night in Fawn Grove. Citizens Fire Company of Fawn Grove invited Fire, Rescue and EMS agencies to participate in a meal, a service honoring those lost, and some time of fellowship. Members on board Rescue 61 attended and had a good evening. Crews returned to quarters around 10pm.
This morning, at 05:00, Shrewsbury Volunteers responded for a reported fire alarm at Saubels Markets on E Forrest Avenue. Units arrived and found it was only a malfunction of the system. Personnel returned and at 05:47 Rescue 61 was dispatched into Baltimore County for a reported truck overturned with entrapment. Rescue 61 arrived and assisted crews with extricating the single occupant. Access was made to the cab of the vehicle after it was stabilized. Once access was gained the subject was quickly removed. Rescue 61 cleared the call at 06:35.
While returned to quarters from the Baltimore County incident Rescue 61 responded to a reported accident with injuries on the Susquehanna Trail near Oakwood Road. Rescue 61 arrived to find MICU 58 on scene. One patient was in the vehicle which was off the roadway. Crew members from Rescue 61 assisted in removing the patient while other members controlled traffic. The patient was placed in MICU 58 and transported to York Hospital. Rescue 61, after giving information to Pennsylvania State Police, cleared and arrived back in quarters at 07:55.
