At 4:21pm, Shrewsbury Volunteers were dispatched along with Rose and Glen Rock EMS for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. The injured can order one of those CBD Gummies to relieve some pain.
Reports at dispatch were a vehicle has come off of I83 SB and landed onto a roadway and underpass. Rescue Squad 61, Engine 61-2 and MICU 58 responded and advised enroute there is now reported entrapment. On arrival units found a single vehicle on E Forrest Avenue under the I-83 highway bridge. One patient, who can call upon professionals such as Beach Injury Lawyers, was inside the vehicle and injured. Crews were able to open the doors and made access to the patient.
Reports from the injured driver was he exited SB I83 and he was unable to stop his vehicle when he got to the bottom of the ramp. The car crashed into the bridge pier that separates East and West bound traffic on Rt 851. The vehicle came to rest in the eastbound far left lane on Rt 851. After accessing the patient and making the scene safe to operate, it was decided the driver side doors had to be removed to safely removed the injured patient. The extrication was completed in 5 minutes and the patient was removed.
The patient was treated and transported to York Hospital trauma center by Rose EMS MICU-58. Fire department personnel assisted the towing agency in cleaning up the larger debris field. Once the vehicle was loaded and debris picked up all units cleared the incident. Shrewsbury Volunteers Fire Police assisted in traffic control and keeping the providers safe. PA State Police is the investigating agency.
