At 6:31pm Shrewsbury Volunteers, as part of the York County Advanced Technical Rescue Team ( York ATR), was dispatched to assist with a reported building collapse with entrapment. Rescue 61 responded on the call.
Enroute updates from units on location advise a mobile home has slid down an embankment, overturned and collapsed, and an occupant was injured and trapped inside. On arrival crew members from R61 met up with other York ATR personnel and assisted fire department crews in shoring the collapsed home. Once shored a wall was cut out and crews removed the injured occupant. He was attended to by EMS on location and transported to a local hospital. Crews gathered equipment and cleared when ready. Rescue 61 cleared at 8pm. Once R61 returned to station and was cleaning up equipment another building collapse incident was dispatched in York City at 9:10pm. Rescue 61 immediately responded. York City FD units were advised the incident was only a front porch roof that fell down, no injuries. On their arrival all responding units were cancelled. Rescue 61 was back in quarters at 9:15pm.
