Today started at 06:51 when Shrewsbury Volunteers was dispatched to Hopewell Township to assist Eureka Volunteer Fire Department with an accident with entrapment on Bridgeview Road. Command 54 advised there was one occupant heavily entrapped in a vehicle down an embankment. Rescue 61 was first arriving rescue unit and began extrication work to free the trapped driver. After 12 minutes the driver was freed and handed over to EMS personnel. The patient was airlifted to York Hospital by STAT Medivac. An engine from Rose Fire Company ( Engine 58-1) handled the landing site detail. After cleaning up on the scene Rescue 61 returned. A good job by multiple depaments working to save lives. At 09:38 Rescue 61 was again requested to assist in Baltimore County Maryland for a vehicle accident with rollover and entrapment on Interstate 83 at Exit 33. Rescue 61 immediately responded. Enroute Command advised the they had one person trapped and requested a medivac from Maryland State Police. As Rescue 61 was arriving Command advised the patient was removed and all incoming rescue units could cancel. Rescue 61 went available and returned to Shrewsbury.
