This morning Discover Time YMCA Preschool had the opportunity to stop by the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company and take in the sights and sounds of the fire station. The Preschool students talked with several members of the fire company about who to call in the case of an emergency, “Stop, Drop, Cover your face, and Roll,” “Get out, and stay out,” and so much more. As they were learning the students were also taught about firefighters and how they are our friends and that you should never be scared of them when in their gear.
The students then were able to walk around the station and see the fire apparatus and see all the different equipment that is used on all the pieces as well as get their pictures taken in the fire engines. Many questions were asked and many questions answered and allowed the members to interact with the preschoolers.
Thank you Discover Time YMCA Preschool for stopping by.
