The Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company once again is visiting day care centers, local schools and host our annual open house during fire prevention week 2015.
Since the beginning of October members from Shrewsbury Volunteers have participated in several day care center presentations. It is always a pleasure interacting with the children in town and helping them understand emergency service personnel ( Fire, EMS and Police) are not going to hurt them. We emphasize the need to know what to do in case of an emergency and have some fun time with them showing protective equipment firefighters use. The kids highlight is usually getting on the fire apparatus.
This week Shrewsbury Volunteers will participate in the Shrewsbury Elementary Fire Prevention Day which is October 8. Members from Station 61 and our equipment will be at school all day presenting fire prevention sessions and conducting fire drills. Members interact with kids in their classrooms and answer questions related to fire safety.
Also on October 8 is the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company Fire Prevention Open House. This will run from 6pm to 9pm. Firefighters and their equipment will be on display. Come down and ask Station 61 personnel questions and see how our tools and equipment work to keep them safe. We will also be conducting fire engine rides around town.
Come down and visit The Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company and learn about us and fire safety. If you have a question contact us at info@shrewsburyfire.com.
