This evening, Station 61 and surrounding mutual aid departments responded to a working dwelling fire on Morgan Drive in the First due. Engine 61-1 was first in with heavy fire at the rear of the structure and moving across the roof. Fire made it’s way into the first floor as crews began the attack. Rescue 61 and Engine 61-2 arrived and also assisted.
The fire was knocked down and aggressive interior work kept the bulk of the fire to the rear of the home and garage. Some fire extended to the second floor but was stopped by the interior crews.
No one was injured in the fire and our department wishes to thank everyone who assisted. Very good team work and strong firefighting made this home a save.
