At 6:45 pm as personnel were just cleaned up from a technical rescue incident in Adams County, PA Shrewsbury Volunteers were dispatched to Interstate 83 SB at Exit 4 for a reported accident with injuries vehicle overturned. Rescue 61 and Engine 61-2 responded along with Engine 63-2 from Loganville FD and MICU 58 from Rose EMS.
On arrival Chief 61 (Myers) established Shrewsbury Command and advised two vehicles and a tractor trailer were involved. A large debris field was on the roadway. Station 61 personnel immediately established a safe working area and investigated the wreckage for injuries. Incredibly no one was injured in any of the vehicles. Shrewsbury Volunteers assisted PA State Police with traffic control and debris removal until all destroyed vehicles were removed. All units then cleared and I83 Southbound was completely reopened.
