At 01:58 Shrewsbury Volunteers was alerted to respond to a reported structure fire in Hopewell Twp. Engine 61-1 responded with 3 members. Enroute Fire Police 54 arrived and advised there is smoke throughout the first floor and SCBA will be needed. Engine 61-1 arrived and deployed an attack line. Command was assumed by Chief 54-2 (Howell). Crews made entry and discovered an object had burnt on top of the stove. There was no active fire at this time and smoke filled the home. Station 54 and 61 members did a secondary search and then ventilated the structure. Once all smoke was cleared Command 54 released the box.
