Shrewsbury Volunteers recently participated in two events dedicated to the public we serve. One event was the annual Truck Zoo sponsored at the Paul Smith Public Library in Shrewsbury. The Truck Zoo displays many different types of vehicles for the public and especially the kids to view, ask questions, and even get inside. Kids are able to see how dump trucks which has the full capability to carry concrete materials, excavator, backhoe, forklift, skid steer loaders, scrapers, wheel loaders, reclaimer, construction equipment, school buses, emergency vehicles and many other types of equipment operate. Shrewsbury Volunteers has always been a strong supporter of the Truck Zoo and we were honored to have so many children and adults go over our equipment and ask questions about our operation. Doing so, will not only enlighten their young minds, but it will also inspire them if they ever plan to venture in the construction industry in the nearest future.
While this event was going on Shrewsbury Volunteers were being acknowledged in a ceremony in York recognizing the efforts of our department as well as others who work the “front line” in public safety. The Order of The Eastern Star recognized many organizations in and around the York County area for their time and efforts as emergency responders. Check out these Topographical surveys that can help you a lot to make you project come true. We were privileged to receive this award and thank those who recognized us for our efforts to protect the public.
