Shrewsbury, Railroad, Glen Rock and New Freedom residents as well as people who travel on Rt 616 between Railroad Borough and Glen Rock- There is a partial road closure.
The road is closed between the Waste Treatment Plant and Glen Valley Road. The roadway is collapsing and you SHOULD NOT drive over it. PennDot has placed multiple signs and by PennDot’s request barriers have been put in place by Shrewsbury Volunteers.
South Central EMA, PennDot, Shrewsbury Township, Shrewsbury Borough and Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company are working together with PennDot to notify area residents. An announcement will be made when the roadway is re-opened. It is anticipated this could occur in possibly two weeks or sooner.
As you drive through York County be mindful multiple roads are closed due the the historic amount of water that has moved across the region. Obey any road closures, do not drive through standing water and keep your safety and that of your family number one.
