At 07:46 hours this morning Shrewsbury Volunteers was dispatched into Shrewsbury Township to assist Glen Rock Fire Department with a vehicle accident, overturned and down an embankment. Additional comments were received that one person was now reported trapped. Rescue 61 responded to assist Rescue 59 (Glen Rock) who is also en-route.
The original location was dispatched on Fissels Church Road however Rescue 61 found the incident on Pleasant Valley Road just west of Taylor Hill. Personnel investigated and found a single occupant inside the vehicle which is on it’s side and against a tree. The occupant advised his is okay, just can’t get out. Rescue 61 personnel stabilized the vehicle and then removed the windshield. The occupant was able to crawl out of the vehicle on his own and was taken to EMS. Personnel from Shrewsbury and Glen Rock Fire Companies made sure no other occupants were in the vehicle. There was only the driver. After speaking to Pa State Police on location no further fire department assistance was necessary. Personnel removed the stabilization equipment and cleared the location.
