At 12:38pm Shrewsbury Volunteers were dispatched to assist Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Co. with a reported woods fire. Brush 61 responded and staged on location with Station 59 personnel. The fire was due to a downed power line and crews had to wait for the lines to be de-energized by MetEd.
While crews were on that incident Shrewsbury Volunteers were dispatched to a report vehicle accident with entrapment on I-83 Southbound in Baltimore County, MD. Rescue Squad 61 responded immediately. Enroute Maryland Line FD arrived, established I83 Command, and advised they have two trapped in a vehicle. Rescue Squad 61 arrived and was assigned to the vehicle with two people trapped. One patient was removed in minutes while the second patient was heavily trapped by the dash and door. Crews from Shrewsbury, Maryland Line, Baltimore County Engine 60 Parkton, Rose Fire Co. and Hereford Fire Co. operated together and completed the extrication in about 35 minutes. Mulitple EMS units were on location to transport the injured.
Rescue Squad 61 cleared the scene at 2:30pm and all Shrewsbury units were back in station by 2:50pm.
