At 09:38am Shrewsbury Volunteers were alerted to assist units in Baltimore County with a reported vehicle rollover, down an embankment, with entrapment. Rescue 61 responded with 4 personnel to I 83 Southbound at the Gunpowder Bridge. Enroute crews on scene advised they were removing the driver (door was ripped off by the guardrail on impact) however it is possible an 8yr old in under the wreckage.
On arrival personnel from Shrewsbury Volunteers applied additional cribbing and lifted the vehicle to look for the child. No one was seen under the vehicle. Command later advised the child was located at home with the father. The driver was treated by EMS providers on the scene and then airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore by Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 1.
Shrewsbury Volunteer personnel assisted in racking up equipment with units on the scene and after the helicopter departed cleared the scene.
