WINDY HILL RD CLOSED FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS

Tony Myers    December 3, 2019    No Comments

Windy Hill Road in Shrewsbury Township is CLOSED between Rt 851 (Bridgeview Road) and Tolna Road.  You CANNOT access Deer Creek Road from Windy Hill Road.  Detour signs are posted throughout the effected area to show routes of travel while Windy Hill Road is closed.  The road is closed due to a replacement of a sanitary force main at the intersection of Windy Hill and Deer Creek Roads.  Motorists should be aware of the following detours.

To access Windy Hill Road from Rt 851 take Elm Drive (between True Value and PennDot building) to Tolna Road.  Turn left on Tolna Rd and drive to Windy Hill.  You MUST turn right which is a sharp and steep turn.  Tractor Trailers are urged NOT to use this route.

To access Rt 851 from Windy Hill Road you have two options.  Driving north on Windy Hill Road (towards Rt 851) there is a detour sign posted at Bartenslager Road.  Turn right and follow it to Brose Road.  Turn left and follow Brose Road to the four way stop sign.  Five Forks Road is directly ahead of you and you can follow it to Rt 851.

To access Rt 851 from Windy Hill Road (option 2) you can drive north on Windy Hill Road to Tolna Road.  Turn left and follow it to Elm Drive.  Turn right and take it to Rt 851.

All motorists should use caution in the detour routes as the roads are two lane and not much room for oversized vehicles.  The detour will be in place for at least 30 days however the crews hope to have the roadways reopened sooner.  Stay clear of the construction area as large machinery is in use.  Any construction zone should not be accessed by general public for your own safety.
