At 5:36pm Shrewsbury Volunteers were dispatched along with a first alarm assignment to assist Rose Fire Company with a reported structure fire in Forrest Lakes. Engine 61-2 responded to assist. Enroute units from Rose Fire Co. advised they had a working structure fire. Engine 61-2 arrived laying a 5 inch line from a secondary water source and provided water and manpower to the incident. The crew from Engine 61-2 brought a second attack line and assisted Engine 58 (Rose) crew who were attacking the well involved kitchen fire. A good job was done knocking the fire down and Shrewsbury personnel conducted a search and then checked for hot spots.
The incident was in control in about 35 minutes with overhaul needing to be done in the burnt kitchen. Crews from Maryland Line and Eureka assisted. Personnel from Shrewsbury cleared the scene at approximately 7pm. There were no injuries.
