At 5:44pm Wednesday night Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Co was dispatched to assist units on location of a working structure fire in Baltimore County Maryland. Rescue 61 responded and on arrival was told to assist crews working inside. Personnel assisted in opening ceilings and walls to confirm fire travel has been stopped. Chief 61 was assigned “Interior” by command. Station 61 personnel worked with firefighters from Maryland and Pennsylvania departments in putting the fire out. Once completed with interior work Shrewsbury firefighters were put in “staging” until needed. Ultimately we were cleared and returned to Shrewsbury. A pet was saved by fire crews and recovering at this time. No other injuries were reported.
Station 61 wishes to say “Good Stop” to Parkton Engine 60 and Hereford Engine 441 on containing and knocking down the fire on arrival.
